The Freeport train platform is just steps away from hundreds of national retailers, name-brand outlets, and locally-owned boutiques all set in a 19th century Maine village. The L.L.Bean campus of stores are a block away and open all the time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A variety of restaurants are within walking distance and many of the Freeport accommodations offer free pick-up at the train station to their guests. Kayaking, canoeing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ocean seal tours, and even a desert can all easily be reached by cab or by booking in advance with the provider.

The METRO Breez provides daily express bus service between Freeport, Yarmouth, Falmouth and the Portland Transportation Center/ Downeaster Station. One-way tickets cost just $3.00.

Bike rentals are available in Freeport for just $19.50 per day. Call ahead to Ring's Marine at (207) 865-6143 to reserve a bike and it will be delivered to the Freeport Train Platform.
